Consti selected for a major Meri-Kamppi facade renovation
The residential housing company As Oy Meri-Kamppi in the Ruoholahti district of Helsinki has ordered a comprehensive facade renovation from Consti. The contract is worth EUR 7.5 million, and the project will be completed in January 2018.
In addition to renovating the front elevation, the project involves installing new windows throughout the entire building and replacing the balcony balustrades and glazings. The balcony surfaces, courtyard facade, socle coatings, entrance canopies, roofs and roof terraces will also be renovated. In connection with the extensive facade renovation, street-level balustrades, railings, stairs and ramps will also be repaired.
Consti Building Facades will be the main contractor for the project. According to Markku Kalevo, the company’s director responsible for bids and sales, the contract constitutes an exceptionally large facade renovation project for a single housing company. Built in the 1980s, the multi-storey residential building covers a whole block and includes more than 250 flats and business premises. The renovation work will begin in August and be completed in January 2018.
